For All You Vampire Fans

The Southpoint Casino is having a Twilight Movie Premiere party on Tuesday November 18th. For $25 you get in to the pre-party at 6:00 and then see the movie at 7:00. I'm totally there!!! If anyone else wants to come along you can buy your tickets at the southpoint website starting next Friday, Oct. 31. I'm sure it will be crazy, but it sounds like super fun! Let me know if you want to go and we can get as many people together and make it a serious girls night out!

Fun Trip

Yesterday I thought it would be a good idea to take Matty, Livvy, and Jeffrey to the dentist! So here I go to the dentist for 3 appointments and pushing Zak in the stroller. Insane right? Right! It's so worth making several trips to the dentist instead of having to deal with everyone at the same time. Livvy and Matty had been before, so they are pros, but this was Jeffrey's first check up and it went exactly like you think it would. a 2 1/2 year old who won't open his mouth, who screams and cries everytime the hygienist even came close to him, whose diaper leaked and had to walk around in wet pants and who has a mouth full of cavities and has to go to the pediatric dentist! What fun! Notice the picture of Jeffrey with not 1 but 2 suckers in his mouth, thus all the cavities!

Where to begin?!?!

It's hasn't even been a week since my last post, but we've been busy so here are some pics of what the Gill Family has been up to.
I was finally able to get some better pictures of Matthew our soccer star. Last game he played defense so he didn't have to do as much running! It was a great game, they lost by one point but scored 3 goals in a matter of 5 minutes during the second half. The weather was great and I can't tell you how much I love watching him play!

On Sunday we had our monthly Cecil family dinner. This time it was at Todd and Heidi's. Heidi always goes above and beyond, even being 8 months pregnant. We had chili, cornbread and made homemade rootbeer. She even made sugar cookies and had all 16 of the kids decorate them. So the pics are of the decorating fun! Jeffrey is wearing the red mask for some reason.

Saturday Date Night

Just so everyone doesn't think that my husband and I always go out on these wonderful, hip, exciting dates, this post will prove you all wrong. Tonight our date was exciting trip to Target with a stop at the Starbucks for hot chocolate. Anytime we can get away, even just for an hour, is worth it. Thankfully Matthew is old enough and responsible enough to babysit for a little bit. So we were able to take off for an hour for some time away. It's important to try to find time to be together, even if it's at Target. We got a chance to talk and hang out and I must admit, Target WITHOUT kids is even better!

SOAP BOX

I enjoy my little life. I try to keep my family safe and happy. I live in a shell. I don't watch the news cuz it stresses me out. I don't read the newspaper, but I do check headlines online daily. It sucks paying so much for gas and groceries. And I'm sure all the politics, recession, financial crisis all sucks too. But other than that, I don't let the outside world affect me too much. Until yesterday... I went to 7-11 for my Diet Coke fix and I had to pay, get this, $1.28 for a Big Gulp. Not even a Super B, just a regular old Big Gulp! I swear it wasn't that long ago that it was .89 for a Big Gulp and $1.06 for the Super B, with tax! I debated about not even getting the Big Gulp on principle alone, but I was super thirsty! So I want to know which candidate is going to lower the prices of Big Gulps! Those are the issues that affect me daily! Am I right or am I right?!?

Crazy Costumes

Our ward celebrated Halloween a little bit early for some reason. We had our trunk-or-treat last Friday. It started at 6:00 and we were at Targay at 4:30 rushing to get costumes and candy. Talk about last minute. Thankfully Zak had the super cute giraffe handed down from his cousin Noah. Matty was creative and made his own Zombie Skater costume (by himself I might add). So luckily we grabbed the last Buzz and found a goth pirate for Livvy. And finally it is starting to feel like fall! Hopefully I'll get to post more Halloween pics from actual Halloween. Having it early just means eating candy longer!

Busy Weekend

We had such a busy weekend I just decided to lump everything into one big post. So enjoy all the pics and I'll try to remember everything!

It all started on Friday, Livvy's birthday was earlier in the week but we did her party on Friday since there was no school. She had fun and I only had a little headache after 6 screaming girls for an hour and a half!

Later that night Livvy and her friend Cora got to dance with the Foothill Dance Team during the halftime show of the football game. They had so much fun but were not entertained by the game, every 10 seconds they kept asking when it was time to go down to the field for their dance. Unfortunately my camera takes crappy pictures at night so I didn't get any of the actual dancing. But trust me, it was so cute to see all these little girls dancing on the football field. I swear Olivia is 6 going on 16! Matthew and his friend Noah came to the game and were so excited but honestly I'm not sure why they were so excited since they didn't pay attention to the game either!
On a side note, I remember not liking high school football games when I was IN high school and I like them even less after, well, I'm not going to say how long it's been...
So now to Saturday morning- Michael and his friend Neils went for a hike through the mountains from Henderson to Boulder City. It was about 7 miles and thanks to Neil's GPS, they went mostly off trails. It was a nice cool morning and they got sprinkled on for most of it. It took them about 4 1/2 hours but it only took me 10 minutes to drive to Boulder City to pick them up! Hopefully they can get some good hiking in before the weather turns too cold. I love the desert!
So after a mostly relaxing afternoon, we headed out to Anthem for Matty's weekly soccer game. It was absolutely perfect soccer weather, just warm enough with a cool breeze. This was their toughest game so far and the first half was pretty rough, but they picked it up in the second half. Matty even took a shot on goal. Matty is an awesome soccer player and he is so fast, that no one beats him! Both Michael and I are a little hoarse from so much yelling but don't worry, we were yelling positive things! Go Lightning! (Matty is #5 in the blue uniform, my camera takes crappy action shots, sorry)
Finally after all the busy-ness, it was time for some adult time. Michael and I got a babysitter and went out to Quinn's at Green Valley Ranch to see his friend's band play. I wasn't expecting to have a good time, but it was so much fun! The band was a little loud, but we did get a chance to visit and hang out with friends during the band breaks. For those of you who know me, I'm not much of a "party animal", but we were having such a good time all of a sudden it was 1:00 in the morning and we decided we had better head home. We had a great babysitter and the kids had a good time with her. I love my husband and it is so fun to get out of our normal routine and do something fun and let loose! We had a great weekend and am definately ready for a quiet Sunday and a nap!
